Squeaking clutch pedal

Post by Savernake-breese » Fri May 15, 2026 5:23 pm

When lifting off the clutch pedal it makes a short high pitched squeak - like small clown horn or a single bird chirp. Any ideas what could be causing it please? Chat with garage thought it might be rubbers failing on either master or slave - but they don't know this car very well.
May or may not be related, but the clutch bite is very deep on the pedal, as in all of the work is done in the last 10mm of a 100mm depression of the pedal.

Try a bit of WD-40 on the clutch pedal pivot

Would be ideal if that's all it is. Think I tried that when I got the car, but can't remember now, but will have a more through go and post back if not working. Thanks
