Just a thought Malc,im sure a Body shop/could match the paint and you could infill
the holes

New alternator arrived this morning (11am) now fitted along with new belts for alternator and air con
Just waiting for a new 80amp fuse to arrive today? Before placing the battery
Don't want to do that job again, one book saying removing the halfshaft (but have to drain the oil) another one say remove the exhaust cat, in the end went on a site and got some info
- take passenger wheel off then the splash guard then disconnect the track rod and move it out of the way then undo the stabiliser link so you can push it down and give you a little more space, and then remove the alternator via the gap but have to twist it around until you find that it comes out.
Went back in easy once I had twisted it to see which way in went in
