You don't need a new CPS, I would tell your mechanic to disconnect your CPS plug clean then reconnect it, works for meKBUK wrote: ↑Tue Dec 18, 2018 3:32 pmMechanic is going to replace spark plugs, failing that it will be a new crank position sensor. Just want I need before Christmas.....
I take it these are fairly easy to replace? He is away from tomorrow so will leave my car outside the garage, need to get it sorted ASAP

Re: Won't start..
The plug has been cleaned and reseated. Still with engine warning light, still not starting

Re: Won't start..
Battery is also flat now, icing on the cake... Thankfully it is parked next to a mustang garage so hopefully they will take sympathy on the wannabe mustang probe and bring me some defibrillators xD

Re: Won't start..
You need air, fuel and ignition. Sounds like you have the ignition? what about the fuel? Pump or things that immobilise it maybe.
Re: Won't start..
Engine is immobilised and when pressing the button, it clicks and turns over so ruled out that one.
Definitely getting fuel in - (fuel pump is powering up when turning the key, solanoid clicking etc) engine was flooded due to the number of tries to get it up and running.
Tried to run with EZ start but refuses to go.
The RAC guy said "In theory the engine should be running, it has Air fuel and ignition (although he mentioned the ignition was a bit weak on the rear cylinders due to aging spark plugs ((now changed)) ).
Re: Won't start..
I believe the late model. 1995 probe 2.5L, doesn't have central locking but has the immobilizer. It isn't the older body style like one of the ones Duncan has so I'm guessing its the late?
Re: Won't start..
Retried this in desperation, WD40 and blown into the connector several times. No luck.
