Dizzy and fuel pump
1994
16V
Ford Probe
Had her towed into the garage today. Immobiliser is supposedly fine but distributor still not working nor is fuel pump. Mechanic is really unsure as to why this has happened but said will have a look at dizzy and try to fix it. Have said that due to the immobiliser wires being cut it may as well be scrapped if it’s not an easy fix.
Any ideas on this issue? Fuel pump is intermittent, dizzy works one in a million.

The problem here is your mechanic knows nothing about these cars
Remove the immobiliser as per

The mechanic said he will rejoin 15&16 and go from there.

Re check the wires,if the immobiliser is by passed you dont need the black box,just kick it
over the garden fence,its easier to link the wires in the plug connections to each other with
1mm insulated wire

Or, jam the ignition relay hard shut with a matchstick , that keeps immobiliser working as an anti-theft device.
Ok , the red light stays on while engine is running but still blinks when you switch off.
The hard shut relay contacts pass enough current for the ignition circuit.

That is true , but a 'plug and socket' just seems 'better'.
The real problem was using such a tiny relay in the immobiliser .
They immediately passed the fuel and starter relays in the immobiliser on to much larger units under the bonnet but ,for security reasons , couldn't do the same thing for the ignition circuit . Couple that with components unable to cope with conditions in the distributor and failure was inevitable.
