Re: Engine won't start
Does the engine turn over, when a socket is placed on the crankshaft nut.
Just want to check the engine hasn’t sized
Thinking why has that dowel sheared

Re: Engine won't start
Thanks, I've texted Andy and looks like he has the parts. I am getting a little worried as my mots in June, mechs busy for a month and got alot more to sort for it. Before we knew it was the timing, the engine wouldn't actually start but I can see the rotor arm moved so assuming it hadn't siezed? My mech also said when he went to unscrew that front sprocket, the bolt wasn't tight so he thought it's probably come loose and caused that dowl to shear. There's evidence the rest of the sprockets and timing has been done recently so likely not tightened after.
Thanks, Verity

But you don’t need to undo the sprocket bolt to change the cam beltProbe97Fiesta01 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 1:47 pmThanks, I've texted Andy and looks like he has the parts. Re: Engine won't start
Right
how would I know if the engine hasn't seized? Or do you have to look at the pistons to know for sure
