Could we have a mini fix to sort this issue or can it not be done 'on site '?

A damaged gearbox seal has to show a physical leak somewhere and to lose a whole gearbox full between mot/services you'd expect to see signs at your normal parking spot. As with all mechanical problems, good, regular servicing and top quality oils water and filters are the solution to everything. If I saw oil under the car, the hunt would be on!
