Ford probe 2.5 v6 1995.

Hi everyone, has anybody cut a hole under the rear seats to gain access to the fuel pump. I don't fancy dropping the tank as its all a little rusty and I could open a can of worms!

Have you confirmed that the pump is faulty?

The fuel pump relay is clicking, ai have also used a jumper wire in the diagnostic port and im not getting any fuel up to the engine?

Do you believe that the relay is clicking or clicking and staying engaged?

Also when you use a jumper wire does the relay do anything then?

As for cutting a hole, I would suggest lots of small holes and keep the heat down

Eight cans of Stella and a angle grinder but seriously even if you cut it out you will loose the
Rear anchor points for the rear seat belts and need to weld back in i would jack up as high as you can put on stands or ramps
and give the tank straps etc a good wire brushing and WD 40 for a while

So the relay clicks and stays on as normal, also when I use a jumper wire. I suspect the pump sticks when its been stood for a while because this has happened to me before. Then suddenly it will work again. If I use it on a daily basis it seems to be fine but once its parked for a long time it will stick. I think replacing it would likely cure the problem. But I wouldnt want to lose my belt anchor points so it looks like I will have to do it properly

When you linked the fuel pump out have you pulled the pipe off too the fuel filter and the one
off the fuel filter to the banjo connector and checked for fuel

Yeah, i get nothing at all. If i crank the engine and give it a whiff of easy start it will fire on the ether.

Dropping the tank lets you do all the other things too.
Turn that bolt round , through the lateral arms in the centre of the car. So that head is at front , nut at rear.
De-rust /protect brake pipes.
