Front brake calliper bolt

Is anyone familiar with the dust boot for this bolt?
Both of mine are just cylinders with an open top which doesn’t look right, especially when compared with the rear ones which are complete caps.
They don’t look as though they have been cut off so any suggestions?
Thanks

Do you have a picture?
Are you referring to the slide pins that hold the caliper to the bracket, or something else?
The slide pins "boots" are caps, as they are Allen bolts and they just pull off

No, not the slide pins. It’s the main fixing bolt at the bottom of the calliper, below the bleed nipple. Part no 2W303.
Ford shop manual page 06-03-3 says they should be installed before installing the bolt so maybe they are supposed to have the top open to allow access to the bolt head but it seems to defeat the object.

Hope I’ve done this right!
Doesn’t look too hopeful

I believe that is how most are, you don't need a cap on top of that Allen bolt, the rubber / plastic around the head of the Allen bolt is doing it's job of keeping out the "muck", but allows you to remove the Allen bolt when required.
PS they look very rusty calipers

Thanks, it looks like it’s as it should be and the Ford technician at my local garage was mistaken.
It’s the original calliper and not as bad as it looks but ‘out of sight etc’
If I get the engine bay looking clean it might be in with a chance!
