Morning all, I’ve got a 1995 16v and I need to replace the centre exhaust, I’ve read that there is 2 different sizes for the 2.0 depending on when the car was built and the changeover is 95? The logbook says it was registered on 31/12/1995 but I think it was built before this as it has a s1 distributor and not a Temic key, it also has the under bonnet light but colour coded mirrors ( could of been replaced as it also has 5 spoke swirlies). Any advice would be appreciated thanks

I believe that the centre pipe is the same size for all, whether it's an early or late car, because, it is the CAT that is different in size based on the manifold and where that ends.
If you can find a different size centre pipe, please post up the links, as it would be useful for others

two different types of centre pipes, early and late (its the shape of them that`s different as well as the length)

I've a top quality used centre piece from an early if needed. However I'm not mailing out.

If this for 24v it won't fit a 16v. It's t's 210mm shorter.
That why the 24v has an 'S' shape Cross member.

i learnt this the hard way 16 years ago, the one with a 440mm cat has a shorter mid pipe, the one with a 400mm cat has a longer pipe, the number i wrote down for reference is FE569
