I originally posted this in the wanted section by mistake.
Hi
I don't do a lot of mileage therefore the tread on the tyres is pretty good. But they are about 14 years old.Should the be replaced as they are over 10 years old and can anyone recommend which tyres to go for.
Thanks for your help

The short sensible answer is yes change them, however I would check them to see if they are showing signs of cracking, you will have to look all over, on the sides and between the treads. The condition will depend on how the car has been stored.
As for which ones to buy, like everything in life, consider what you can afford, how many miles you are likely to do on them and are you going to be in a similar situation where you have spent a lot of money on tyres, that haven;t covered many miles but are now too old to be used?
They will all be a much of a much as they say, some will have a preference on make, other not worried.
Your other option is some good part worn tyres, if you can find the right size, but at a fraction of the cost.

Can recommend Michelin Cross Climate 2.
Just put a set on mine and they are brilliant and feel very 'safe'. Expensive though so possibly not worth it if you don't do many miles.

WARNING .
NEVER let them use the locking wheel nut .
REMOVE it/them before you go.
