Here's the pics of damage and rust....
Mech said it would've had to have been practically glowing hot to do that to the cam and would've been y the bot came loose. Likely metal circuating the engine from damage too id assume

Re: Engine won't start
The engine issues look better than the rust issue. It is a common place for them to go, but replacing that area with good metal will be the hardest part in my mind. It has been done before, where a section was cut of of a donor car and welded in.

yes the bit within the inner wing can be and the easier option is to cut the good bit out of another car. The engine is easy really, but an ideal time to do it all at the same time.

Hmm okay, well to be honest I still can't do the work but I guess that's something I could add if anyone wants to take it on

Re: Engine won't start
Such sad news! It was a lovely car from what I remember when you brought it to Buckfastleigh a while back.
I've sent you a PM. I have a pair of cylinder heads you can have FOC if it will save the car. Labour costs are going to be the killer if you can't do the work yourself. Don't sell it as scrap someone in the club will be interested. Unfortunately, like me, you're along way from other Probe owners. Jeff Jones is in South Wales might be interested. Keep in touch let us know what you decide.
