Hi guys, i was reading that smearing vaseline on your seals helps to preserve them, anybody have any experience of this ?

Vasaline is a petroleum product so pretty good for anything on a car with the possible exception of AC seals. You don't want anything other than gas and AC compressor lubricant to come into contact with the internal system as foreign matter plays havoc with the fridge cycle, water being the worst.

i use silicon grease on the inner door seals and boot rubbers for winter ;)
its just the door locks that freeze :lol: :lol: :lol:

Was always told not to use vaseline on door seals as it can degrade the rubber, use silicon spray or grease
