ABS warning light and chewed wires!

Hi everyone, help please!

The ABS warning light on my 94 black 24v is showing up. It used to come up now and again then usually just disappeared after switching the engine on and off. Now it's staying on permanently. I disconnected the negative battery terminal, applied the foot brake, then reconnected, fired up the car, it did seem to go away for a short while but then reappeared.

Any advise? Need to get a new MOT on it but unlikely I'll be able to until I get this sorted. :(

Also, some rats got into my garage and found them selves a new home in the engine bay, the car starts and fires up and drives fine, apart from the ABS warning light but I dont think it's related. I can't find any damaged wires apart from one. Can anyone tell me what this is please? Its in the top left corner. Thanks in advance for any help at all.

That's a connection plug to check your ABS if you have the correct equipment to plug into it,
Have you check your codes to see what is your fault.
The write up to check code are in the Oracle

As Malc said, but pull back the last of the insulation on the wires and splice a bit
of speaker cable to the ends to test.then get some rat poison just dont put in the engine
bay as it attracts them(been there)just put around the car ;)

Thank you for the responses guys.

Dam so the rats are perhaps the cause of the ABS light. Yes I've cleaned the engine bay and garage out with plenty of rat repellent to hopefully keep them away.

I don't know what code is showing up as I don't have the expertise or bits needed to do a diagnosis check. Is there perhaps someone I could ask to do this for me? Would drive down and bring the car over if needed. Is this a fairly easy fix for someone who knows how?

If anyone could help out on this one would be really appreciated!

Lift the engine diagnostic box cover off,and ( SHOULD BE A DIAGRAM UNDER THE LID)link the TBS and Ground with a jumper wire
or paper clip/then turn ignition on so dash lights up,then the ABS will flash the codes as
per the Oracle, just make sure the battery was disconnected/connect then try

Just count the flashes on the dash display

Long dashes. = Ten’s
Short dashes = unit’s

Hi guys followed your guidelines and I think I now have the fault codes:

One long flash followed by a short = code 11 right front wheel speed sensor or rotor.

Then, one long flash followed by three short = code 13 right rear wheel speed sensor or rotor.

So what exactly does that mean, is it a serious problem and how does one go about getting it sorted?

Thanks again for your help!

Following up from that, now the car won't start! No crank. Has putting the paper clips from the TBS to GND caused something else to glitch?
