Engine Cleaning

Post by TrevorH83 » Wed Aug 24, 2022 4:45 pm

So I have given the engine bay a bit of a dry wash and it’s not come up too bad at all. I still want to bring it up a bit more so will give it a bit more detailing but what do people us on the inlet manifold cover / rocker cover to really bring them back to life?

Thank you 😀

Cue Malcolm……🤣
There’s a spray on wipe off Autoglym product that people have used in the past, but can’t remember it’s name, engine degreaser or something like that….

The biggest thing that you shouldn't use is water or steam,
Aprt for autoglym product, I use wd40 a lot in the engine bay, to clean IM, Rocker cover, dizzy,
I use autosol with fine wire wool to polish the IM and Rocker cover,
Autoglm rubber clean, for all the hoses.
You need loads of long brushes with small heads, cotton buds,
I could go on and on 🤣
I'm right in the middle of cleaning a engine bay right now ready for this weekend👍👍

That looks really smart, good work! Did you fabricate the SS panels at the front yourself?

Is there source for the caps and strut covers etc?
