Door lock light
Door lock light
Ford Probe 16v 1994
Is it possible to change the bulb which illuminates the door lock.
Also if it can be changed where would you be able to find a replacement.
Thanks

Re: Door lock light
It is possible, but not easy, as for where, you used to be able to go to Maplin’s but not sure now.
Someone will be along to tell you what ones you need

Re: Door lock light
Thanks
I've looked at earlier posts on the forum and found which bulbs are used and where to buy them.
Also it looks like they are in a moulded plastic surround so probably not a job I can do.

Thanks for the photos
I assume the bulb is wired into the loom ie it doesn't unplug.
To replace it do you need to cut the wire and replace with a new connection.

Yes, I think it was wired into the loom.
In the photos, wiring was damaged when it was removed.

Re: Door lock light
Here’s a photo of the lamp in the clip, in the door.
Showing the lamp is connected directly into the loom

So, you would have to cut the wires, to see if you had a voltage there, & to replace the bulb

Re: Door lock light
As well as the door light not working neither does the ignition light. I have removed the bulb and it is a 14v 1.4w rating which are unavailable in the UK. Europarts have a 12v 1.2w bulb will this work as Automotive bulbs are designed to work 13.5v to 14v. Or will it just fail faster.
