Car starts, then stops after a few minutes
HHHHHHEEEEEELLLLPPPPPP.
1995 24v (early model)
Moby bypassed
Dizzy changed recently
The car started on Saturday night, it sat there ticking over for about 10 mins, then just stopped!
I changed the dizzy again, but I think that made it worse, It did seem like it was trying to start before the dizzy change?
I changed the spark plugs. I'm leaning towards fuel starvation, but I'm not sure?
All sensible ideas are most welcome!
Thanks
Trev

Daft question, are you getting spark, (it's hard to check if your by yourself)
Have you got a spare fuel solenoid, if so trying change it
I'll put my thinking cap on

I won't get to the car until tomorrow, but I should be able to check for a spark. Where is the fuel solenoid situated and what does it look like?

Ah, ok, that one, I think I should have one of those, will have a hunt around?
Secondary question.
If I run the fuel pump by strapping out the terminals in the diagnostic box, does it actually bypass much? (I could look it up, but thought I would ask?)

Do you have the key fob with the button you have to press , then hear a tiny 'click' from somewhere under the dash before car will start ?
No 'click' , no start.
No 'click' , no start.

No idea Duncan, to both of your questions, I intend to go spend some time with it tomorrow evening.
I have a fuel filter to change, although on first view it doesn't look too bad?

Sounds like fuel starvation Trev have you check the fuel cut out switch for good connection
as maybe rusted out.if ok check fuel ump by linking out and remove fuel pipe to filter, connect
to a container if ok,then check out line to fpr for flow, then check fpr to fuel rails
Ps
Check fuel light on dash does it work
if all ok re check the wiring on the mobby,me and Duncan
had a breaker that woulnd start no fuel light on,1 gallon fuel bled the system start straight up
