Is it possible to remove the starter motor without going under the car

I don't know the answer myself, but asking for the others, is it a 16v or 24v?

Definitely not if its a 16v! Did this some time back - a right old PITA !

I'm a complete novice, but did change mine from above no problem, but as said, that's on a 24v.

It's a 16v so probably from underneath

Yes, it’s easier if you remove the X-member + there’s a bracket from the back of the engine to IM that needs to came off

I really only want to check the terminals on the solenoid mainly the one from the battery which is bolted on. Is it possible to access these from above by removing various parts
