If it works when you reconnect the immobiliser then that IS the problem.
You can open that immobiliser, take the cover off the ignition circuit relay and jam those contacts closed using a matchstick.
That way, you will still have an active anti-theft device and cure the dissy failure via that route.

Hey,

Sorry so it still doesnt start with the immobiliser back in. The dizzy failed last time and this has very similar features, except the check engine light wasn't on last time.

Fixed it - I had triggered the inertia switch somehow and that was causing the fuel pump to not start.

I think its worth noting when checking error codes it seems if the error is continous the warning light will stay on constantly and not flash out the codes - That's been the case with both the inertia switch and with the ABS problem I had previously. Hopefully this could help someone in the future.
