Good alternator should give a reading of 14/14.5 v when running

Update. Road taxed it today and went for a drive. Light on permanent.Parked up and turned off. On restarting , it only just fired, like it was a flat battery, I didn't think it would start. I drove it quite hard for the next 10 miles, light extinguished. 3 more restarts and its fine .

Have you put a meter across the the terminals, yet
Should have 14.5v.
Is the belt slipping?
