Clutch replacement

Ford Probe 1994 2.0

I will probably have the clutch replaced however not something I could do. Therefore are there any special instructions that I should inform the garage when replacing. I see in the Clinton manual that two special tools are required. One is a engine support tool and another a differential side gear holder. Can either of these be improvised.

Since its going into a garage to have ithe clutch changed, they should have the equipment to hold the engine while removing the gearbox,, I use aluminium blanks when taking the drive shafts out (one at a time)
I've used a the engine holding equipment with I did mine clutch

No special tools need

Done about 6 clutch change now

Over 2 days

Day one. Take the gearbox off & strip the pressure plate off

Day Two. Put it all back together

Thanks for the help. Out of interest why do the side gears have to be held in place .According to the manual it said to prevent misalignment. What actually becomes misaligned

There’s a chance the diff could drop ( I’ve never known it).
So, you could leave the inner CV shaft in place, or ram a broom stick into where the drive shafts go.

Tip 2, Clutch alignment tool, use a 10mm socket on a 3/8 extension bar. It does the trick
