The proper 'item' would be an ideal piece of kit for the club to own and hire out as necessary.
I made one but gave it to the next owner of M515 CEW , for free , idiot that I am.

Re: 24v timing belt replacement
The REAL risk here is trying to undo the crankshaft nut without the proper item to stop the shaft turning. Ok, you get away with that by putting the car 'in gear' without breaking anything , another lucky day. The rest is just being very careful to do everything properly. Just don't break the 6mm bo...

Re: Earthing straps ford Probe
There are hundreds of 'earth' points but the main one will be from the battery terminal to body , just follow it.

Re: Immobiliser
Have you considered , removing the immobiliser from its position , taking the lid off it , removing the plastic cover over the ignition circuit relay, jamming the contacts HARD closed with a matchstick , replace lid , replace immobiliser. That was easy and you have now made sure the ignition circuit...

Re: Rewinding rear calipers
That would have been a brake failure just when you needed to stop quickly with your foot hard on the brakes.

Re: Rewinding rear calipers
Just to expand a bit on the place and purpose of that 'snap-ring/ circlip. It MUST fit into a recess in the body of the caliper in such a place and position that it stops the adjusting screw from popping out when you stamp on the brakes. Re: Rewinding rear calipers
Well done , that is the problem.
I think ebay will make an exception if you phone them.
The suppliers are also looking at serious problems for selling dangerous goods if they don't respond favorably.

Re: Rewinding rear calipers
Normally , no problem. You just keep 'unwinding' that Allen key socket until the piston drops out.
BUT , in your case it sounds as though there is no connection to the adjusting screw !

Re: Rewinding rear calipers
Woah , stop. Ford Workshop Manual , Rear Brake Caliper page 06-04-10 , exploded view. Perfect. Item 10 is the adjusting screw with the snap-ring/circlip to hold it in place. Item 10 has a 'gear tooth' which engages with Item 2 , the 'Allen caphead ' adjuster which, like you say 'falls out' without r...
