Don't we know it +++.
My concern is, you would do all the work then find another one starts 'tapping' !
Perhaps a few oil changes using flushing oil before doing the job is worth a try ?

Re: Coolant cap
Find an old cycle inner tube. Take the coolant cap off and pull that rubber 'washer' away from the centre spigot. Cut a same size diameter washer from the inner tube rubber. Punch a 5mm dia hole in the centre of the washer. Now, stretch the centre hole over that centre location spigot left in the ca...

Oh Bob, this is like watching someone standing on the parapet of a bridge preparing to jump.
My advice ?
Don't.

Re: V6 removal of the speed sensor on the gear box?
Good to know, thanks.
I can imagine trying to get it out on the car is more difficult.
Is access only possible from underneath the car , or can it be done from the top ?

Re: V6 removal of the speed sensor on the gear box?
Thanks to Wayne for the gearbox.
Off the car, the VSS sensor just pulled out, no problem.
This is the direct opposite of what all the 'scrap yards' told me, " impossible to get out", etc.
Has anyone else ever had to change one, or is it just my high mileage that revealed the problem ?

Re: Suggested suppliers
Costs at least three times as much but, MAZDA belts will last 100...120,000 miles. Forget 60,000, that is way too soon.

Re: Optimum oil fill level
4mm MAXIMUM above the F is ok just, 4mm below the F is time to add some more oil , QUICK.
I don't need to tell you the Probe can hurt you if you ignore oil levels.

Re: Dodgy oil pressure switch
For most of us , the old maxim "If it ain't broke don't fix it" is not such a bad idea.
However, it only applies if you really ,really, do all the maintenance as intended and then some !
For instance, Mazda cambelts will last 100,000 miles easily, but you only find that out by getting there slowly.

Re: Sunroof leaking
Not any crawling required to peel back the under-wing cover , you will see the pipe poking out of the 'bodywork'.
The pipe will take 40psi compressed air ok.
