Well it appears my erratic idle has fixed itself..... FItted a brand new battery yesterday as the other one was struggling to start the car most of the time. It now idles at 650 rpm when warm and the revs dont bounce all over the place etc. Could be a complete fluke but ill still clean the IAC the ...

There be used, but useable :)

One easy way around it ( not OME, so MoJo won’t like it !). Take the tray out by ‘over’ drill the rust fixing with a hole saw. Remove the battery tray bracket that sites above the inside of the wing. You only need 2.7 lt of oil & 23mm socket,
Funnel & length of hose is the easiest way to re-fill the gearbox

The 16v shaft&inner CV joint is smaller on diameter, than a 24v.
If you use a 24v O/s drive shaft on a 16v, can’t get at the bolts on the intermediate shaft bearing, to the block
