Well it appears my erratic idle has fixed itself..... FItted a brand new battery yesterday as the other one was struggling to start the car most of the time. One easy way around it ( not OME, so MoJo won’t like it !). Take the tray out by ‘over’ drill the rust fixing with a hole saw. Remove the battery tray bracket that sites above the inside of the wing. The 16v shaft&inner CV joint is smaller on diameter, than a 24v.
If you use a 24v O/s drive shaft on a 16v, can’t get at the bolts on the intermediate shaft bearing, to the block
