I use silicon grease, there own make got mine from RS ONLINE

Silicon grease on the rubber seal

Was it running when you got it

For a 24v i always take the rad out makes life a lot easier all round

Ebay number 323347125980.i put it around the door sills/rubbers and
the battery terminals etc

I use silicon grease on the door rubbers for the winter,it stops the door freezing too the
sills

Tanya batteries is the place to go for correct fitment,Appx £75 Delivered
Altered my battery tray to S/Steel so can get a £30 battery to fit

Worst scenario release bearing gone though the clutch
plate fingers,then gearbox off and new clutch and bearing
Which might explain the bang as they snapped off
