Wot mojo98 says is true,you will find its the construction of the battery front edge that fouls the
bonnet causing the lift on the bonnet

Hi Elaine clean the grease off and spray some wd 40 on then put some silicon grease on,
or once you have pulled the bonnet release and bonnet pops up push the release back in
and it will close shut without slamming it

Also check the white clips are still intacted holding the cable

No need to take the front bumper off kev,take drivers side wheel off and the inner arch cover
to gain access,Mine was motor Knackered,jumped the wires no go, tried the usual flush etc no go,
could also be internal fault on the stalk

Only difference for a 24v pump is the early/late center spindle
that the pulley goes over
Early is a 16mm spindle
Late 32 mm spindle
Have a lates ones here new

As Malc said check the gearbox for oil as this is over looked,most do an
oil change etc,but dont do the Gearbox oil at the same time
