Re: Rear calliper/handbrake rebuild
The handbrake cable pulls a lever arm on the caliper. That lever arm rotates a shaft which disappears into the caliper. There is a lipseal on that shaft , which fails because of the high side loads from pulling the handbrake on. YOU can help stop the water getting in , by packing the space between t...

Re: Rear calliper/handbrake rebuild
The rear brake will always fail-safe , ie work.
Problem will occur when you release the handbrake .
It won't.
Because the little shaft seal leaks , allowing water/sallt to corrode ,etc.
THAT IS WHY YOU NEED THE........................DENSO tape .

Re: Rear calliper/handbrake rebuild
Only an Oriental mind could have designed the rear brake assembly. Work or fail is entirely down to the condition of the lip seal around that shaft connected to the handbrake cable. Here it comes Trev. You need to pack your strip of ..............DENSO tape round that shaft to give the lip seal a fi...

Re: no start 2.5 24v 1994
As people have said , probably is the CPS but do REALLY check the plug /socket connections properly.
The CPS is a very rugged device and is hard to break.

Re: No start.
Just a reminder to all .
NEVER , NEVER , NEVER try to test the system with a plug lead disconnected.
Best way to kill a good dissy I can think of , after gross overheating.

Re: Side lights
Back to this light issue.
Position 1 on the stalk switch , energises K52 relay.
K52 only has one set of contacts , IF they are closed ., 12 volts goes to two fuses , one fuse for front lights, the other for rear lights
Also feeds to instrument panel lights , licence plate.

Re: Side lights
The headlights are working , so the relay to the park lights , etc should be made , only one set of contacts out to a common distribution point to ALL the other items.
Check for loose connection / spade off / etc.

Re: Side lights
Wiring diagram says Fuse Relay K52 Off / Park / Headlight position switch That's it. Select park and the K52 relay is energised. That should feed ALL of the stuff that is NOT working. Select Headlight , K52 and another relay is energised to feed headlights. . So , fuse /relay/switch .......
