Thanks for info Micron , Dizzy on my car is part no T6T57871 is this S1 ? it was new in Oct 20 .
Off the top of my head, I can’t remember, what year is your car again ( being lazy 😂)
Early cars are S1, later cars S3, no idea what happened to S2 🤔

Re: HELP

You will need a 96,97 car, if you go to buy an engine, check that it has a S1 dizzy.
However, you might find that an earlier car is a better option, it just means a few more things to swap over

Re: HELP

Ah, not good, If you find another engine, what's to say that will be any better? Also as your car is a later car, remember that you may need to change over more items if you buy an early engine.

will the garage be fitting the replacement engine?

Car is 1997 model , would anyone have an engine and costs please ? Gutted tbh but it is what is it , thanks for all the suggestions...

Re: Starting

Have you had the battery disconnected for a period of time? If you have, your ECU has to learn every thing again, are you able to take it for a run. You mentioned that the dizzy has been replaced, was it a new one or used, has anything under the bonnet been moved or tampered with? How are the water ...

Re: HELP

Has the timing been checked? does it stop if you remove one of the plug leads, because it's only firing on 2? Any chance that you can change the distributor?

Where are you based?

Re: Modifications?

Just remember that the topic on the Probetalk forum is nearly 20 years old, so the availability of items may be less and the costs greatly increased :o

Re: Windscreen part number

Just to add, we need at least 6 people to place an order and it normally takes about 6 months for them to be made and delivered
