This is an Oil Additive that amazingly works, check out the website http://www.americantechnology.co.uk/cus ... 1QodPiltjQ
I have used this in my probe and I have no blue smoke, no lack of compression and it has halved my emissions which were checked last month for the MOT. It is available from ebay for £20.69 with free postage.
I have just filled up after the last fill up had done 345 miles now I am getting 396 off a tank, so I am well impressed.
Anyone else tried it?
Mick

I have just had my emissions retested and the results are as follows
Before After
CO 0.14 0.011%vol
HC 16ppm 12ppm
CO2 16.98 12.68%vol
The CO is not a mistype it has dropped to a superclean 0.011%vol, so I guess this stuff really does exactly what it says on the tin

I've seen the ads for it in Car Mechanics, seems good ol' Quentin Willson recommends it too.
I will be putting a can in mine when it's back on the road :D

This looks like good stuff, but is it an additive like HLA treatment or a complete oil replacement? I'm feeling a little thick today :-k

Add it to your oil, they reccomend a Standard oil not stuff like Magnatec as this reduces it's effectiveness. Drive for 500 miles then feel the difference.
I personally cannot reccomend it enough as it has given me an altogether greener car.

Magnatec?, please dont remind me! I've ditched it. :? I'm still on a tight learning curve  . I have to get some of this Ametech, but how much would you add to, say, Probe Store oil for a 24V? :D

Been thinking about using this stuff for a while now
Read this thread and thought - bugger it - ordered last night about 5pm
Postman Knocking on door at 7.30 this morning saying "sign here"
Watch out Roc - You've got potage competition ! :D
Would it be worthwhile stocking it in "the store" ?

About 6 pages of testimonials / instructions etc in with it too
Looks like Freds got an oil change to do tomorrow :D :D :D
Will let everybody know how it performs

Is this a One off treatment or does it need to be done on a regular basis.

You use it each time you do an oil change, so £20 every 6 months. In response to Sparky75, you would need one 400ml and one 250ml for the best results, follow this link

I just recieved my 400ml can of Ametech Engine Restore additive with this mornings post and i can't wait to see what it can do to my 24v. I have been told that I need a little more than the one can for this size engine, so I rang Dave at Engine Restore UK LTD, to see what the situation was. He is a very nice guy and very helpful as he took the time to explain in detail how to get the best results with the product. I told him what car it was for and said that 1 X 400ml can of Ametech Engine Resore was quite enough for a 24v with 73k on the clock. I went on to tell him i was currently using AC Delco 5W/30 oil with Wynns HLA treatment, which was a good combination, but to flush this mixture out before putting the new stuff in. He said it worked best with older, simpler oils, so im gonna use it with the same AC Delco 5W/30 from the Store. He also reccommended that i compair the emmisions before and after the oil change and that i will be amazed. I can't wait to use it now! Dave or Roz are on 01394 675317. :D

3w50 doesnt exist, I assume a typo.

5w30 or 5w40 fully, are the only oils I would sell to go in a 24v, neither are old or simple really. These engines need a quality oil, I wouldn't recommend downgrading the oil for the benefit an additive TBH.

Reading between the lines, I guess that these newer, high quality oils contain half the chemicals this product does already, hence it not showing as working so well.

Be interesting to see the results.

Maybe I should get some for the store?

OOOPs, sorry, yes, its a typo, which i have now edited.   TBH, i am very happy with the oil from the Store and its worked very well in my 24V along with Wynns HLA treatment. From what Dave says, AC Delco 5W/30 is a good oil to use on its own, but just about perfect for this Ametech stuff. I think what he meant by simpler oil, was not knocking it, but just explaining its ingredients and how a complex oil like Magnatec, for instance, wouldn't work as well as Delco with this product. I missed my Interlink guy this morning, so i will get my Store order (inc, AC Delco oil) tomorrow now; then i'll get to work. Maybe order a small batch of Ametech for the store and see how it goes? 8) :D

Magnatech is not a good oil anyhow.

Store oil is ACDelco, not Comma, hasn't been Comma for nearly 2 years, except for some gear oil.

ACDelco, is very similar though, in my opinion, slightly better, due to better quality base oils.

I think the ACDelco will be perfect for you. The higher quality the better in my book.

With the majority of cars made now using these types of oil, I can't imagine that it wont work, else in a couple years it would have virtually no market left.
