Sorry about this (probe must be 2 good to need fixing!!)

On cold start up especially when it has been REALLY cold over night the beemer is an absoulout nightmare to start however the engine is turning over but it will not fire (but will do after quite a few attempts) then will run rough for a couple of minutes till warm then once warm you can start it no probs!!

Tried the battery out the v6 in it and still same story and changed the plugs so any other ideas before i book it into the garage next week?

these are prone to coolant temp sensor failures. you need to find somebody who can pull the codes for you. give you some indication of any faults stored.
