Non-runner. Injectors not firing

Post by ryanandcharl » Fri Jan 13, 2023 7:54 pm

Hi everyone,
Bought myself a non-runner and have been working through the hurdles of issues but have now come to a stop. I have so far:
- new battery- car turns over but doesn’t start.
- replaced the rotten fuel pump, lines and components of the tank.
- sent injectors off to get them refurbed and tested- all good

I am getting fuel all the way up to the fuel rail and I’m getting power to the injectors and spark to the plugs. I suspect the injectors are not firing. I’ve heard talk of pressure sensors and crankshaft position sensor so I am looking to replace those. Anything else I should consider?
Thanks in advance everyone and any advice appreciated :D

It’s a 2.0L manual and 1995 reg :) the distributor and leads were changed to get the car running years ago before I bought it

It’s got the original key with the button fob, I have to press the button on the fob before cranking otherwise it won’t start.

Ok thanks I’ll add this to the list, how can I test the dissy before I look to replace it? Also if the factory immobiliser causes issues is there an easy way to bypass it?

There is a write up about how to bypass the dizzy, however where it is can only be accessed by full members, but at £10 per year, it’s a bargain.
Full membership also gets you a discount on 2nd hand parts with some people
